✨ Katjes jes, jes, jes ✨: Many people hear the melody ringing in their ears when they read Katjes or hold it in their hands. It all started in 1910 with a licorice recipe from Sicily. Xaver Fassin brought this with him from the island and his son Klaus Fassin used it to produce little licorice kittens called “Katjes-Kinder”. Katjes means little kitten in Dutch and that's why our oldest product has retained this distinctive cat shape to this day ????. What luck: to this day our Katjes children made from spicy hard licorice are one of the most popular products in our vegan family. We are particularly pleased that our absolutely unique piece was a total trendsetter even back then. Because our Katjes children have always managed without animal gelatine - 100% vegan licorice.
